Aisling Bea

Aisling was born March 16 1984, in Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's top-rated and popular comedians. The comedian appeared alongside Stephen Fry on QI. Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16 March 1984) is a stand-up comedian and actress from Ireland. Bea's acting career started in the year 2011 as a comedian after appearing in small parts in Irish and British television shows beginning in 2009. The comedian began to appear often on sketch comedy and sitcoms in 2012. In 2012, following her was awarded an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) and began to be featured frequently in panel programs. In 2016 and 2017, she served as a team leader on 8 Out of 10 Cats. Also, she is an actress on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents were Brian as well as Helen O'Sullivan. She has one younger sister, Sinead. In 2012 she was the first woman ever to be awarded the So You Think You Are Funny Award. Bea was awarded the award in memory of her father. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan, born Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. She was the daughter of Brian O'Sullivan. Brian was a veterinarian for horses who committed suicide at the age of three. Bea was just three years old. She wasn't told about how he died until she reached the age of 13 years old. In 2017, Bea published an article in The Guardian about the suicide of her father's relatives and took on the stage name Bea in remembrance of him. Bea and her younger sister Sinead were taken care of by their maternal grandmother Helen (nee Moloney) a secondary school teacher jockey trainer and an ex-professional jockey. Their family was passionate about horses and races. Bea was a trainer for The Irish National Stud in her young years. However, she knew it wasn't something she wanted to do in a career and she preferred to perform.
